Shah Rukh Khan’s most recent cinematic venture, Jawan, is not just making waves for its impressive performance at the box office; it’s also winning hearts globally. Directed by Atlee, the film is shattering records and earning acclaim for its impactful storytelling. In just three days since its release, Jawan has raked in an impressive Rs. 289.06 crores at the Indian box office. Adding to the buzz is the presence of Bollywood actress Lehar Khan. In Jawan, Lehar Khan takes on the role of Kalki, one of SRK’s on-screen companions. In Atlee’s directorial, she plays a pivotal character, shedding light on the hardships faced by farmers and their families.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Lehar Khan shared her experience of working with SRK, expressing a mix of nervousness and excitement. She stated, “I am so happy that people are not just talking about the dance, entertainment and action but also agreeing to what we wanted to say through Jawan… Through my work, I could give the world the reality of what these families go through. Honestly, it did take a toll on me to realize how a small amount of a few thousand pushes these farmers to take their lives. It brought anger which I utilized in my performance. I am so glad that people are now talking about it, and I hope that can help us bring some relief for them.”
Lehar Khan also had warm words for Shah Rukh Khan, describing him as a beautiful person at heart. She commended his humility, caring nature, and kindness. She noted that despite the demanding nature of the film, in which SRK portrayed a double role and had to wear prosthetics, he ensured that everyone on set was comfortable and content. Lehar added, “At heart, he is such a beautiful person. Whenever he is talking, there’s so much humility. He is also so caring, and kind and assures that everyone around him is comfortable and happy. Jawan was a hectic film for him as he played a double role and had to wear prosthetics, yet amid all the messy, chaotic environment, he was all out taking care of his girls, as he calls the six of us. He also has the warmest hugs to give. I think one is a fan of him as an actor and when they meet him, they become a fan of him as a person.”
Talking about the film, Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment production directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film made its grand release on September 7, 2023, captivating audiences in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
